Stunning sapphire blue glass stones set in sterling silver. This trio of emerald cut glass stones set in a slightly curved sterling silver setting are stamped Sterling on the backs. The sapphire blue glass stones are gorgeous and in excellent condition. The styling is very unusual in that these feature horizontally stacked stones encased in slightly open sterling settings. The opening in back lets just enough light through so these shine beautifully. The ear wires connect with an octagonal cylinder placed in the center behind the stones leading me to think they may have been designed to hold removable dangles. The screw backs work well. A very well crafted lovely pair of earrings dating back to the early 20th century.
